ACHIEVEMENTS
How to explain what you have achieved in a lifetime of hard work and challenges is not really simple. I have resolved to let you have a glance on the three main significant ones. Whether evident or not in the marketplace, these are the achievement I hardly worked about right before starting Origami Engineering of which I am most proud of.
NEW BRANCH AND R&D DEVELOPMENT FOR GERMAN SPEAKING CUSTOMERS
In the center of the European German-speaking area, I developed a project to set-up a unit devoted to R&D in the energy consumption field, together with a technical customer assistance, to manage the whole energy engineering projects the Company has in the area. The attention of the governments in the pertaining regions is significant. They have recently renewed their commitment to energy consumption reduction with new industrial laws and initiatives to favor the clean industries developments.
Reconversion to a newer technology of many heavy heat- and power-consuming industries is presently a focus of Austrian, German and other adjoining countries.
PORTABLE COMPOSITE SYSTEM FOR HEAVY DUTY WORK
A global Portuguese-headed group whose mission is to improve the efficiency of the drilling and excavation processes in the foundation industry, through the application of unique products and techniques is continuously researching to improve their client competitive edge, and claim all their products are environmentally friendly. It was a challenge to develop a carbon fiber and concrete units for works on marine environment, with the extremely difficult chemical parameters added by the concrete itself, that have to provide movable floating platforms, with a portable system.
SUPER HARD MONOLITHIC CARBON-CARBON
An important aerospace player, based in Italy, was developing a launcher. Based on a previous model, the purpose was to make it better efficient, thus able to re-enter the atmosphere and to be reused a number of times. In order to do that, with the company I was working with, we worked out a material based on a standard carbon-carbon (C-C), formulated on those specifications. It came out a super hard composite material able to resist to more than 3000°C on a continuous exposure for a significant number of minutes, that allowed a reuse of the part up to several times in a row. It was the highest achievable at the moment of the development, and still stays unsurpassed.
